Leo Lou (b. 2000, Berlin)
is an interdisciplinary artist and photographer working between Germany and China. He is currently pursuing an MA in Arts and Media at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and holds a BA (Hons.) in Fine Art from the Arts University Plymouth, UK.
His practice unfolds the intricate relationship between humans and the natural environment, shaped by the influences of today’s fast-paced digital cultures and societies. Working across visual media, as well as sound and interdisciplinary experiments with organic materials such as fungi and agar, he seeks to preserve the kinship between human and non-human, emphasizing their interdependency through a more instinctive and holistic perspective.
